Walt Disney World

Some interesting facts about Walt Disney World:

Walt Disney World was built mostly on swamp land. What I get from that is that sometimes the location matters, but sometimes if the idea is good enough, location doesn’t matter. =]

It is not actually located within Orlando city limits.

It’s the approximate size of San Francisco, or about twice the size of Manhattan!

Walt Disney managed to convince the government in Florida to create a new district for his world. Since Walt Disney World is the only occupant of that district, Disney basically has its own district in florida. It can create its own fire department, manage its own water and electricity, create roads whenever, create its own public transportation, make up zoning rules, basically all district powers. Impressive, dare I say.

(I could list more, but my laptop battery is dying . . .)
